The programme is a full-time, accredited, educational and work placement programme in performing arts, hospitality, cultural tourism and business. Our academic year starts in March and is completed by the end of February the following year.

Selection Criteria
- Youth age 18 – 25 years from disadvantaged communities
- National Senior Certificate and academic skills required for further study (literacy, numeracy, proficiency in English)
- Household incomes less than R60,000 per annum
- Motivation to pursue a career in the arts and related industries
- Inability to access further education or employment
- Acceptable level of performance potential based on an audition, but no formal training required
- Previous graded training in performing arts (Advantage)
- Performance portfolio (Advantage).
Auditions
All applicants are required to submit an audition tape when applying for enrolment into our programme. We conduct two rounds of auditions each year starting in October, with outcomes announced in January of the following year.
- Submit a 1 – 2min audition video of yourself performing a piece in your preferred medium (dance, drama or music (vocal or instrumental).
- Submit an introduction video, stating the following: your name & surname, your age, your location, do you have a Matric & your matriculated year and are you available for a year of full time studies.

Fees & Scholarships
Rainbow Academy students are automatically enrolled on a 75% scholarship for their year of study. The remaining 25% is for the account of the student and is at a rate of R4000 annually as well as an R850 registration fee.
